So worth it! I grow most of my food in my backyard in 92114. The rewards are countless. I should say, I grow most of my food but that accounts for about half of what I grow, as wildlife make off with the rest. An arrangement I’m happy with. ? My front yard is full of native plants for the pollinators, plus an herb garden. My back yard has eight small fruit trees, 11 raised beds, and 8 Earthboxes. We capture as much water as we can hold in the winter. My yard is so full of birdsong day and night, along with squirrels, opossums, skunks, raccoons, and the occasional coyotes. Developers are starting to cut down the big trees and scare all the wildlife away with their endless destruction projects, sadly, but it’s beautiful for now. I guess I’ll flee when the wildlife does.
