OBPB Agenda 5-6-15Climate Action Plan, Apple Tree Market, Community Plan and Various Transportation Issues on Agenda

It looks like the Ocean Beach Planning Board has a full plate on their agenda for their upcoming monthly meeting, Wednesday May 6th.  Newly-installed Board Chair John Ambert will gavel the meeting to order at 6pm in the community room of the OB Rec Center, 4726 Santa Monica Avenue.

The OB Planning Board of Sept 3, 2014.

A close scrutiny of the agenda – see above – shows that most of the items are informational as there are no current projects under review for the action part of the agenda.  The actions items on the agenda are to seat new members and to appoint community liaison representatives.

Yet there are plenty of issues on the agenda to warrant a high level of interest from community and business members of the village. The Board may take action on the recommendations from the various reports and presentations scheduled.

Despite being classified as “information”, some of the items are of extreme importance – such as a presentation on the Climate Action Plan and possible Board actions. Also an update on Apple Tree Market coming in on Newport Avenue should be of extreme interest to those waiting for the selling of fresh food in the downtown area of OB.

An important update on the progress of the OB Community Plan will also be given as it winds its way toward the California Coastal Commission.

It also appears that Chair Ambert  hopes to corral all the different transportation projects that have been swirling about lately in the dreams and imaginations of OBceans and city planners alike. Discussed over the last several months are such transportation-related issues as cross-walks, traffic circles, bicycle corrals, and electric vehicle charging stations.

The meetings usually adjourn at 8pm.
