  1. As a native who spent his first 30 years living, working and studying there, I’ve been very touched and inspired by the outpouring of support from everywhere. The Marathon is a global event in a global city, and there’s no one place who owns that pain of losing people to such a senseless event. We all share that, wherever it happens. Many in the world deal with this a lot more frequently than Americans do, without question. Just not a parochial, regional thing.

But to see how many people out there are making an above and beyond show of support for your city and your people, at this point in time?

We can and often do come across as aloof and obnoxious, but we are also loyal to a fault. At the risk of speaking for an entire region, it maybe means more than people realize.

    Thank you.
