November 17th @ 4:00pm at Mission Bay Park, 2688 East Mission Bay Drive 92109

We Occupy Clairemont Drive Bridge by 4:30 pm

This is a joint effort. The AFL CIO set the time and place. The San Diego Labor Council will invite all unions in the area. Occupy, MoveOn, the ACCE, the Veteran’s for Peace, the Universal Unitarians and other organizations will join and endorse this event as we join our brothers and sisters across the nation. Power in numbers!!!  Bring signs and banners and let our voice be heard with all groups across the country!

This is a joint effort! Let’s join with San Diego Unions and the nation to express to Congress that they have the power to get us out of economic crisis by rebuilding our infrastructures which will rebuild our cities and put many people back to work.

Take I-5 northbound. Clairemont Drive Bridge is the bridge between exit 21 and exit 22 when you are going north on I-5. You can get off at exit 21 and park at Mission Bay Park or Visitor’s Center at 2688 E. Mission Bay Drive, San Diego CA 92109 and walk to bridge. We will hang banners and gather on Clairemont bridge at 4:30pm. Bring signs and banners and make our voice heard!

I’ll bike over there!

Will the bridge be blocked for cars because of the protesters? Traffic is bad enough as it is at that time and if I can’t even get off the freeway there to get home, that will make it much worse. Clearly none of you commute.

Some things are more important than the need to get home from work on time for one day. Please don’t be selfish. The country is in a really bad way, people are starting to wake up and speak out. We need more to do the same instead of thinking about how to get theirs. Sorry for the inconvenience we are just trying change the world over here.

Concerned – what? Are you crazy? Of course, most of us commute! How else do we get around in this god-forsaken land of no mass transit.

Listen, this bridge is so bad it could fall apart at any moment, and you are concerned that the afternoon commute might be slowed down?

i don’t like the idea that we have take the bridge by time 4:30, the time should be relevant , it should indicate the meet up time at the Visitors Center.

Where is that fantastic bridge in the photo?

Patty Jones November 17, 2011 at 1:42 pm

That is the Clairemont Drive bridge with protesters added by me.

Ah, good photo Patty. Just left the bridge after the occupation. Police were amazingly cooperative and helpful tonight. Good response “honks” from passing cars too.

Patty Jones November 17, 2011 at 10:17 pm

It was a good turnout and the honks always make it better!
