Grocery Workers Solidarity Rally, Downtown San Diego, 24 august 2011

Downtown San Diego – By 12:30 this afternoon more than two hundred people gathered to leaflet and rally in support of Southern California Grocery Workers who are prepared to strike after voting overwhelmingly against the latest offer from Ralphs, Vons and Albertsons, that would have a devastating effect on their health care.

Supporters rallied in front of the downtown Raplh’s store and marched in procession from there, across the street and back, at times in a continuous stream through both intersections at G Street, and 1st and 2nd Avenues. The mood was upbeat and most the folks passing by were supportive, although a few honked in frustration at the blocked traffic.

Dear readers: this was Patty’s very first full-on video production, complete with title and credits. She filmed the event and edited it – what a gal!
