What a joy to see public art like this. Perhaps I am in the minority, but I often cannot see the beauty in a lot of public art that is supposed to grace our environment. I think about that gastro-intestinal bronze that used to be in front of Scripps Green Hospital, or the now rusting and deteriorating angular structure in the plaza of the blocky federal building downtown. I know I’m an ignoramus in art, but gee it’s nice to see a little color and familiar form in a publicly viewed space.
