Maybe it would be a good idea to post PICTs of everything on that block so your readers can see how completely out of character this is with the rest of the block. It’s like a YUPPIE showing up at a Dead Concert.
Too bad normal families can’t afford to buy a home. They will always be outbid by someone who can build 10 units. Even to someone like me, I consider myself a yimby… I think this looks like Birdrock in 1996 and the existing single family home there is so beautiful. I just assumed someone would rehab that gorgeous home, but we need housing so badly. Supply and demand :(
The existing small house is rehabbed and staying, it is part of building plans.
Right across the street the building is the same mid century design. Next door is 2 houses in cased in plywood and stucco.
Right ! World oil who is that ! Oh wait I meant huge oil conglomerate is that and where over seas are the headquartered! Such a joke been here all my life and I couldn’t buy unless the I won the lottery and it’s still not a guarantee because I’m a local .. a real local not a 5 year ob loc .. this issue pushed my mom out and I’m barely holding on … luckily I make just enough to rent a 1 bed 1 bath for 2500 in a 50-80 year old apt.. now that’s living!!
I hope they at least preserve or sell the artistic fencing done in front!
I see some art-deco on this one. They could’ve done worse. Some color would help.
