The holidays are in full swing at San Diego’s Belmont Park.
Winter Wonder at Belmont Park is back and brighter than ever at the beachfront amusement park in Mission Beach. The park has been decorated with a million twinkling lights and festive decorations for the seasonal event, which runs through Jan. 5. Popular rides and attractions have been sprinkled with holiday cheer, including Peppermint Putt Putt at Tiki Wonderland, Sweet Escape at Escapology and Polar Plunge at Plunge Pool.
There are community performances from 1-2 p.m. and live music from 3-6 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday. Belmont Park is also offering seasonal treats and beverages, including cherry lime Dole soft serve, red velvet funnel cake, snowman brownies and more.
The holiday cocktail pop-up experience, Miracle at Draft, is also back this season. The pop-up bar features holiday decor and Christmas-themed cocktails that celebrate the flavors of the season.
Winter Wonder, an event for all ages, will also feature a variety of special kid-friendly activities.
Kids can make their own ornaments from 4-10 p.m. Nov. 26. Each ornament kit will include paint and brushes, glitter pens and gem sticker sheets. The event costs $10 per person and will feature an appearance from Olaf, a character from Disney’s “Frozen” franchise.
Belmont Park will host a family-friendly movie night from 6-8 p.m. every Wednesday except Dec. 18. “The Nightmare Before Christmas” will be screened on Nov. 27, followed by “Home Alone” on Dec. 4, “Elf” on Dec. 11, and “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” on Jan. 1. The event costs $10 per person. Attendees will receive movie boxes that include soda, popcorn, choice of two candies, and a Belmont Park water bottle.
Kids can decorate house-made cookies from 4-10 p.m. Dec. 3. The event costs $10 per person and will include an appearance from “Elf.”
Santa Claus will make a special appearance from 4-10 p.m. Dec. 17. The event is free.
