It is not a good idea to construct an overly large pier in Ocean Beach. The proposed 200 million dollars to build it would be better spent elsewhere, like a trolley line extension to service commuting residents and give visitors to OB a pleasant experience rather than a parking problem.
Most visitors found walking to the end of the current pier too arduous and uninteresting; at best, a visit to the cafe, a place to fish or watch the surfers, was sufficient.
Because he is a bad manger and makes bad business decisions. From settling A Street claims for full value expecting the private market was anxious to build a city complex. Wrong. Gutting zoning laws so anybody can build anything anywhere so housing would be affordable. Wrong. Realizing homelessness is a tough problem, he has made no headway. He is allowing several shelters to close with no real strategy to replace them.
Perhaps Larry Turner should think about running for the District 2 seat next time around. He’s a resident of OB.
great idea!!
Yes! What an huge improvement Larry Turner would be over ‘Do Nothing Dr. Jen Campbell.’ Unless there is a photo op in it for her, Campbell couldn’t care less about OB.
Looks like UCSD must have voted heavily for Gloria. And University City gave Gloria a majority even after he’s doubling residential units.
Look again, Paul, much of Univ City is in the golden rod colored sectors.
