KPBS News Presents San Diego Mayoral Debate 2024 LIVE

The candidates running for San Diego mayor will join KPBS in a live debate on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 8PM. San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria and challenger Larry Turner will debate the most pressing issues facing San Diegans including housing and homelessness; public safety; and money matters.

This live debate will be moderated by KPBS Public Matters investigative reporter Amita Sharma along with panelists Voice of San Diego CEO and editor-in-chief Scott Lewis, inewsource managing editor Jamie Self and KPBS metro reporter Andrew Bowen.

Date and time

Thursday, October 3 · 8 – 9pm PDT

The live debate will be carried on KPBS TV, 89.5 FM, and YouTube.

Way back during the Dinosaurs in 1970, I founded the original Ocean Beach People’s Rag - OB’s famous underground newspaper -, and then later during the early Eighties, published The Whole Damn Pie Shop, a progressive alternative to the Reader.

  1. Having Scott Lewis and Andrew Bowen as “panelists,” when their reportage and personal social media is filled with pro-Glorrhea, means KPBS isn’t even trying to provide any credible neutral staging of this event. What, they couldn’t get Nick Serrano or Rachel Laing?
