Help! The Widder Curry Needs a Rescue! (Or at least her daughters think she does)

By Lynn, Michele and Stephanie

If you’re reading this, then you’re a reader of our mother and are aware of the health issues that she has been facing. You’re also likely aware that our mom LOVES dogs – so much so that her love of dogs may actually put her own health and well-being at risk.

Mom’s beloved dog Shadow died a while back and while trying desperately to find another Golden to replace him (and being scammed by some unscrupulous SOBs in the process), she agreed to take in a beautiful Husky mix, Precious, for a “trial” period.

Shortly thereafter, Rex, a beautiful Golden came her way and she adopted him. The problem is that Precious is just too much for her and the rescue people stopped responding to her. Although it breaks her heart, she has tried re-homing Precious, but hasn’t been successful. We know that she’s talked about it here, but Precious still lives with her (along with a 3rd dog that her last tenant abandoned to her care).

Normally, we would just let it go because our mom is a smart (and stubborn) woman and knows that Precious is too much for her (and she wouldn’t listen to us anyway), but we can’t.

With our mom’s most recent health issues, she has lost all of her forward vision in her left eye, and has very minimal peripheral vision in that eye as well (the doctor suggested she contact the Braille Institute, so that gives you some idea of the degree of vision loss). She also has impaired vision in her right eye which she is fighting hard to keep.

To make matters worse, she’s now on blood thinners, so a fall could be catastrophic.

Precious exuberantly follows her around, behind, in front, and to the side – with left-eye blindness and right-eye impairment, this is a fall waiting to happen and we love our mom way too much for this to be okay!

So, we’re hoping that you, her readers and her friends, also love her too much to let that happen. Precious needs to be re-homed for Mom to be safe and we’re asking you to please help. So, if anyone can take her, or knows someone who can take her, or a rescue that can take her… please help rescue our mom!
