One of the most important candidate forums of 2024… Reserve your seat now!
The Mayoral Candidate Forum is this Thursday, February 22nd, at 6:30 PM at the Salvation Army Kroc Center Theater. It’s at 6753 University Avenue, San Diego 92115.
Why does this forum matter? San Diego has a Strong Mayor system of government, which makes it the most powerful office in San Diego.
This may be your last chance to hear from the candidates who want to take the reins at City Hall. Learn where they stand on the issues that matter most to you — BEFORE you mail your March ballots.
Each candidate will give opening statements and then answer questions submitted by the audience.
The forum will be moderated by the League of Women Voters of San Diego and conducted according to their guidelines. This event will be recorded and posted to the League of Women Voters of San Diego YouTube channel at a later date.
**Primary elections are March 5th**
The two winners of the March 5th primary election will move on to the general election in November.
Candidates Jane Glasson, Geneviéve Jones-Wright, Daniel Smiechowski, and Larry Turner have confirmed attendance. We have not received confirmation from Todd Gloria.

FYI: Daniel Smiechowski has been banned from the Rag for making racist and misogynist comments.
Larry Turner goes to court tomorrow AM. We’ll soon find out who is the truth teller and who is not. Larry Turner has plans on how to get SD back on the tracks of this out of control train wreck operated by others. I agree with both of these stories, but gaming the system is typical of SD politicians in the highest places. One thing Larry Turner hopefully will do is mandate his Council Reps get out in the field and remember THEY work for the residents, and he will hold them accountable. Same for Dept. heads who just blow off the public. No more secret deals behind closed doors, and he won’t be beholden to anyone. Same with Ellis California Jones, candidate for Council Dist. 3. He too does not plan to be a career politician and has plenty of experience to deal with the homeless, and has a plan on how to get them off the streets, via his “triage”, “treatment” and “transition” process. Vote for Larry Turner and Ellis California Jones and don’t vote for any incumbents. It’s going to take a lot of determination, including and listening to the people and no fear to get SD back to a tourist revenue producing vacation spot. that’s SD’s only industry. The Mayor is surprised the revenue has decreased a lot the past year. He’s chasing the tourists away with unbelievable traffic congestion when he decreased traffic lanes on major streets in long established communities which also includes tourist attraction spots. The City Mobility Dept. is trying to keep their jobs, I get it, but the Mayor needs to use some common sense when they bring a plan to him. He’s failed in common sense too.
CALL TODD GLORIA”S OFFICE AND TELL HIM TO COMMIT TO SHOWING 619-236-6330
nope. if answering to the people who vote you in isn’t a concern, then suffer the consequences. pretty clear decision there.
Remember who tried to bring radical density (i.e., 10 units on the single family lot next door!) to our neighborhoods via SB 10: Todd Gloria. Let’s not give him the opportunity to try again. No on SB 10, No on Todd.
No on 10, no on Todd.
Well, that one is clear!
Thx much, Frank, for spreading the word about Thursday night’s mayoral forum, and other candidate forums.
It’s really unfortunate get the mayor refuses to take part in these debates.
