There comes a time, indeed, when we – the citizens – need to stand up for our country. We need to stand for the Rule of Law. And we need to call for Trump’s impeachment.
That time is now – this Saturday, June 1 – when OBceans and people from all over San Diego will converge on Dog Beach to spell out “Impeach” with our bodies.
Simultaneously, people at Ocean Beach in San Francisco will be doing the same thing. This will be history in the making.
It is from the grassroots that the pressure for impeachment must come – for we cannot allow Trump’s misconduct and impeachable offenses to go unanswered. If we at the grassroots don’t pressure the politicians to act – who will? And where is more “grassroots” than Ocean Beach – the site of the first Impeach at the Beach on March 4, 2017.
As Mike James, the San Diego organizer of Satuday’s event, wrote on facebook when he set it up:
“We are at the crossroads of determining whether our republic will be ruled by laws or by a demagogue who believes he is above the law.
At every turn the Trump administration and the Republican leadership has attempted to obstruct investigations into his “high crimes and misdemeanors”.
Ultimately the impeachment procedure will reveal those who have chosen to be on the right side of the law and history.”
Stand up and send a message loud and clear.
