A coincidence? Or a mistake?
I don’t profess to know everyone in San Diego. In fact, I don’t profess to know one half of one percent of the residents of San Diego, but I do know that an inordinate amount of the people I know, male and/or female, have expressed to me the same problem in the past 3 weeks.
It didn’t matter if it was Don in Imperial Beach; Irene in Santee; Hitomi in the Convoy area; Michele on Shelter Island; Lucy in La Jolla; Jackie in Encinitas; Mary on Sunset Cliffs, Larry in El Cajon, Stephanie in Sierra Mesa, or myself in Pt. Loma – we are all suffering from almost debilitating headaches. Some of the people I spoke to said that they have headaches frequently but never like this.
Others, like me, seldom ever get headaches, but these are severe.
Because mine have been so bad in the past month, I have been to my Primary Care Physician; Urgent Care; the Emergency Room; the Ophthalmologist and just last week saw the Ear Nose and Throat specialist.
What did he say?
He has no idea what is causing the headaches and I should see a Neurologist. (Appointment pending!) I should quickly say that I am not a hypochondriac. I stay away from doctors as much as I possibly can. I am a breast cancer survivor and want nothing to do with doctors if I can help it.
Not too many years ago there was a great deal of discussion re: the “chemtrails” that were being left by the vast number of airplanes in the area. The talk was that the chemtrails (defined as “chemical trails” resulting from an intentional high-altitude release of chemical agents”) were causing different ailments in San Diego, and that there was a higher incidence of cancer in the Pt. Loma, Ocean Beach area than other places.
There was talk that the chemtrails might be a way of testing various agents on people (and flora and/or fauna). Governmental agencies stated that there is no basis for that theory, but many of us find that anything a governmental agency tells us is suspect.
Once again I am suspicious of the huge number of my acquaintances that are suffering from headaches.
Why are so many people, in so many parts of San Diego County complaining of these headaches? Is the military trying new (?) techniques in case we go to combat shortly? Has a mystery chemical accidentally (?) been released into the atmosphere?
Have the chemicals from the fires from the gas refineries in Los Angeles county found their way into San Diego and causing us distress?
All I know is that I have never had headaches before. I know that I am having them daily; that it is affecting my vision as well as my attitude. What about the rest of you? Are you having trouble too?

You know, what with all the rains we’ve had this year and what with the explosion of flowers and grasses the rain produced – couldn’t it be the pollen and other airborn agents from this recent huge growth of plants?
I haven’t noticed more big headaches. Minor stress related head “aches” more frequently but nothing major.
I think it’s a combo of weather whiplash (hot/cold/hot/cold), more pollen in the air from all the rains and more social / economic / political stressors.
Increase in low altitude departures and aborted landings (thus the increase in plane noise & plane soot), maybe?
(or increase in soot density)?
Hey – seen all that rain? and extra grasses and flowers? Its your allergies causing your sinus pain = headaches.
One common and easy-to-miss cause of headaches is caffeine withdrawal. If you think you are drinking too much coffee, cut back slowly.
Maybe its the “Molecules of Freedom” that DOE has just re-branded LNG. Of course, I’m kidding, but most likely its weather whiplash, as Td said, coupled with “conjecture stress” from having zero faith in ANYTHING a govt agency says or does these days. The chemtrails theories have been around for decades, but if one wants to go down that path, I think the stuff on the ground, like glyphosate, is worth more attention. Plane soot has been, and is, a contributing culprit and is toxic and unhealthy, but would be unlikely to illicit a sudden spike in community headaches… try lavender oil, tylenol, and a 1/2 hr each day of focusing on the good stuff around you, like your fruit trees or something :-)
Re Glyphosate: the City of San Diego has been in a massive spraying campaign and have been spotted spraying at Sunset Cliffs Natural Park, all along the Cliffs, OB , Shelter Island, and along the freeways. I have multiple chemical sensitivity and herbicides, pesticides, fragrances and petroleum products, etc absolutely slay me! Causing symptoms like Migraines, nausea, fatigue, general malaise and brain fog?
My feet hurt. Does that count?
Can’t say that this is what’s causing your and others’ symptoms, but it’s common knowledge that this happens sometimes when the weather fluctuates extremely. Here’s a local NBC report on San Diego “headache weather” from a year ago.

Also, sometimes when people suspect that a location is the cause of symptoms, they go away for a week or two to see if the symptoms subside. Then come back to see if they start up again.
Judi, I agree with you about the increase in headaches…. It’s global warming!
Seriously though, global warming is creating more volatile weather and that is creating more changes in barometric pressure which increases sinus headaches.
What works for me is taking a decongestant and occasionally Tylenol with it. I usually use a generic Actifed and that works great. Sometimes I couple it with a Tylenol if I want to make sure I eliminate it but usually the decongestant does the trick. And that, to me, proves it is a sinus headache.
I find the present political “climate”, as well as the worry over global warming and the ignorance afflicting the public and their fossil fuel corporate/politician enablers regarding that reality is encouraging me to imbibe more which causes me to suffer from more headaches.
I have spent the past two days on Fiesta Island. Yesterday, my boyfriend had a terrible head ache that made him feel light headed and woozy. Today, myself! We wondered if someone is burning something they shouldn’t in the fire pits over there and releasing something bad into the air. Honestly, the headache is so bad you have to lie down and close your eyes. Has to be airborne because we didn’t go into the water let alone touch it.
We googled and found this page so we must be headed the right direction that this wasn’t just us having caffiene withdrawals from being at the beach all day…
Chemtrails dont exist. Solar Geoengineering does. Harvard has partnered w the govt to conduct large, widespread experiments to cool the planet via cloud seeding. More & brighter clouds reflect more sunlight and help combat global warming. All major news agencies have announced these experiments several times since 2017.
The problem is, the cloud seeding uses newer, patented aerosols such as aluminum oxide, barium, strontium, titanium. Just google ‘solar geoengineering’ or ‘dimming the sun’.
