The man suspected of shooting and killing a woman in the Baron’s Market parking lot on October 9 has been identified. The suspect is Joe Bennette Conway, 41, say police.

An arrest warrant in Conway’s name has been obtained – and the public is being asked to help locate him. He is 5-foot-7-inch and weighs about 150-pounds.

San Diego police believe Conway was driving a red, four-door Chevrolet Cavalier possibly with Arizona license plates.

The victim – who has been tentatively identified – and Conway were seen together before the shooting when they entered a Domino’s Pizza near Baron’s. After they left the pizzeria, witnesses heard yelling, a single gunshot and a dark sedan speeding away from the scene. The victim’s name is being withheld pending family notifications.

Anyone with information about Conway’s whereabouts is asked to call the SDPD homicide unit at (619) 531-2293, or San Diego County Crime Stoppers’ anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477.
