The “OB Shelf” inside the Ocean Beach branch library is up and running.
The collaborative effort by the Library and the OB Rag has finally materialized – it’s a shelf in the library that holds works on or about Ocean Beach, or books by local authors; plus it holds historic OB planning documents that go back to the early 1970s.
Local authors have been donating their novels, photographic books and other material. Noted author David Helvarg – a former OBcean who writes about the oceans – came by recently and donated several of his books to the shelf.
So go check it out – literally (there’s some research material for reference only) and enjoy and appreciate how this community contributes to our culture and history.
