Water Quality Advisories for Ocean Beach, Sunset Cliffs and Shelter Island

The County’s water quality program has issued a stunning number of advisories for Ocean Beach and Point Loma.

Count them – there’s five! And all because “Bacteria levels may exceed health standards,” and people are cautioned to “Avoid water contact in the advisory area.”

Here they are, verbatim:

Ocean Beach Area

  • Advisory: Ocean Beach
    Station: Stub Jetty – 200′ South to San Diego River
    Status Since: February 1, 2018
  • Advisory: Ocean Beach
    Station: San Diego River Outlet – Dog Beach
    Status Since: January 17, 2018

Sunset Cliffs Area

  • Advisory: Sunset Cliffs
    Station: Bermuda Ave. – Beachline adjacent to access stairs
    Status Since: February 1, 2018
  • Advisory: Sunset Cliffs
    Station: Pescadero Ave. – Beachline adjacent to access stairs
    Status Since: February 1, 2018

Point Loma – Shelter Island

  • Advisory: San Diego Bay
    Station: Shelter Island Shoreline
    Status Since: January 22, 2018
