The Widder Curry Says ‘Thanks’

CJ Catering made the cake.

Thank you.

When the OB Rag throws a party, they know what to do:  Food, entertainment; raffles; drinks; good company; great people, etc.

I would like to thank those of you that introduced yourselves to me and thanked me for the articles I have written for the Rag for over 8 years.  It truly made me feel good to know that even though you do not always agree with me, you enjoy reading what I write.

I would also like to thank a few people that generously donated items or gave me a special “deal” for the party.  (Frank and others also received donations from people, and I am not slighting them; rather I am thanking those that made my day an easier one.)

First I want to thank CJ Catering for the tremendous food that they made especially for us.  The 10th Anniversary cake was to die for; the hummus, the dolmandes, the vegetable and fruit trays were spectacular; the cheese and salami tray was outstanding.

I want to thank Hugo’s Mexican Cantina for the salsa – best in San Diego – and the guacamole and chips.  I also want to thank Hugo for his $25 gift certificate to a very lucky “raffler”! and his generous donation of gift certificates of 15% off of a meal.

Not to be outdone, I want to thank Richard at the Surf Check for his donation of three gift certificates at the Surf Check.  Wish I had won one of those!

A special thank you to my very favorite masseuse – Mary Owens of Mary’s Therapies – for her gift certificate for a session of reflexology.  Another raffle that I wish I had won.  What a difference 30 minutes makes with her.

And still a special thank you to my favorite acupuncturist – Nicole Murray – at Beach Community Acupuncture.  She, and her partner Mary,  have cured me of many aches and pains I have had over the years.  Her gift certificate will bring relief to the lucky person that won it.  (By the way – I know that a man had the lucky raffle ticket.  Don’t be afraid of the needles – you hardly feel them and the relief is wonderful!)

And to Frank and Patty – thank you for letting me write for you. If for no other reason I can show my ex-husband that he was wrong 60 years ago when he told me I couldn’t write!
