Being an occasional column featuring sights and sounds from Ocean Beach and Point Loma.

Punk Egret rocking a Mohawk at the flood control channel.

OB plate.

Getting ready to pour the footings for the construction site at Santa Monica and Cable, across from CVS. Two of my friends walked by the other day and asked a worker, “What are you building?” He replied “A Walmart”. Everyone’s a comedian…

Rasta palm.

Everyday in OB!

Overheard

My nephew was surfing Dog Beach a few years back and he heard some distant thunder.
Two other guys were talking to each other about the situation:

First Surfer:  Do you think we should get out of the water?

Second Surfer:  No, I think the wetsuits should insulate us from any electricity.
Anyway, we’re more likely to be bit by a shark than struck by lightning.

First Surfer, after a long pause:  I think it’s the other way around, dude.

love the dude figure, although i kinda resent that his eyes are pointed out as if he was / is crazy. the dude is one of the most sane people around.

I used to watch “It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood” show with my toddler kid back in the late 80s. I wonder how long this stencil has been up?
