The Ocean Beach Planning Board is anticipating a large crowd at their meeting on Wednesday, August 2nd as the main item on their agenda is an “Open Discussion” about the future Target Express store coming into OB.
That’s why the Board has moved to a much larger venue for the discussion and will be holding their monthly meeting at the Masonic Center at 1711 Sunset Cliffs.
There will be a presentation from Target representatives, plus a discussion with San Diego police about the process for off-site alcohol permits, and then an open community discussion about the project.

Some call it the “Masonic Lodge” or the “Masonic Temple” or Masonic Center

Why can’t the owner divide up the largest building in Ocean Beach on Newport? Okay, put in a couple of toilets and additional wiring – and raise your massive rent a few cents. Wouldn’t that be better than handing over an entire block to Target?
Frank, I respect you’re hard work and candid reporting. Forgive me for not following this issue closely enough. To this point, did the owner of the antique building put the property up for sale already, if so could anyone or local group purchase the property? Also if so, has the property close escrow? Thank you for not only bringing myself up to speed but others in the community.
