Ted and Kathy Caplaneris’ family restaurant on Newport Avenue has been chosen – once again – as a location in a feature film.  The film is being produced by White Night Productions, a locally family owned independent film company. The movie is called “Sports Heaven”.

Filming will start on Tuesday, November 8th inside and outside the restaurant. Sports Heaven is a story of star high school athlete with amazing sports skills and is a family type film.

Of course, the Old Townhouse Restaurant found fame in the television series, “Terriers”, which featured off-beat private detectives and their plots in and around Ocean Beach.

  1. How exciting! I haven’t eaten there in years but if it means I might finally be the film star (or background extra) I also supposed I’d be, well bring on those greasy eggs!

  2. Oh my! This is the page that got 2 million hits and guess what is that Jo Anne Worley contemplating her pancake?

    1. Lucille – just to be clear, this page did not get 2 million hits, but the two millionth hit came to this page.

  3. Ted Caplaneris sent us an email and said:

“The experience last night was so exciting. I got to work with the best crew in the business. They were the most talented and courteous professionals I have had the pleasure of hosting at the Old Townhouse Restaurant. There really are no films out there that you could share the screen with your kids. White Knight Productions of “Sports Heaven “ will allow adults to spend quality time with the ones they love.

I will keep you posted when they screen the film.”
