Anna’s Video Pick – Banksy, Have You Reached a Verdict?

Banksy’s street art surprises one. It grabs the eye and attention by juxtaposing contradictory elements that leave some lingering question about what we perceive as inherent reality. His work is a combination of the satirical and subversive.

Surprise and incongruity shake up our perceptions and make us question the “reality” around us. Just think about the last two months and all the images about the uprisings in the Middle East. The protests in Madison Wisconsin were a surprise and who would have imagined the conversation we are having now across the whole country?

Have you reached a verdict?

  1. Thanks for sharing, Anna! You have seen _Exit Through the Gift Shop_, haven’t you? :-)

Also, I can’t help but wonder if that last piece is a subtle dig at Jeff Koons.

    1. Ah yes- the balloon dog! Sharp eye L.G. Banksy slices and dices the issue of what is “proprietary” to great effect. :)
