There are moments which transcend the need for words.  Marcos Efron’s short video “Common Practice” reveals one of those moments.

  1. I loved this film. The tension as I wondered what was going to happen to the young boy made the positive ending even better. It takes a lot of talent to tell a story without dialog
Also for me, the toast popping up was a great way to signal the ending.

    1. I felt the same way about the tension. I was imagining all kinds of ways- frankly not positive- that the film could have played out. I chose the video for that reason- for the surprises of it. And yes, the toast popping was brilliant.

  2. Really good, The diversity of the setting and the built in prejudice we all have made for a pleasant little video. I love it when they keep you thinking
    Thanks

  3. What wonderful images of a simple beautiful life, full of assumptions that are put to rest – and then life goes on. Beauty in a moment in time. We have to get it when and where we can, don’t we? Thanks, Anna.

  4. Hi, this is Marcos Efron, the director of the short “Common Practice.” Thank you for your kind words!

I wanted to let you know I’ve expanded the short into a feature called “Music City,” and we’ll be shooting this summer in New York. To help get the word out we’ve launched a Kickstarter campaign, and so I would like to ask you all to give it a look-see here:
