By now, we’ve all seen the photos of wildlife drenched in oil. We’ve seen Gulf Coast fishermen stranded on their docks, and we’ve seen maps estimating that oil could reach as far north as New Jersey before flowing on to Europe.
It’s easy to feel helpless, but we’re not. There is something you can do right now to help stop the spill: boycott BP.
Tuesday (6/15/10) night, President Obama outlined some important steps to clean up the spill and begin transitioning the US to clean energy alternatives. And when he sat down with BP executives on Wednesday, money was the big issue — who comes up with the money to clean the beaches, to deploy the Coast Guard and National Guard and to compensate local business people who lose their livelihoods. BP pledged to set up a $2 Billion account for compensation.
In the meantime, if enough of us boycott BP, together we can send a wake-up call to BP executives and their puppets in Washington in the dollars-and-cents language they understand.

The “boycott BP” movement started on Facebook, and it has really picked up. Hundreds of thousands of people are pledging to boycott BP until the spill is cleaned up.
BP-owned brands include Castrol, Arco, Aral, ampm, Amoco and Wild Bean Café. We can put the pressure on BP to stop the leak and clean up the oil spill by boycotting these brands. If there is one thing BP understands, it’s profits. They made $239 billion last year alone, and money is the only language they speak.4

we can boycott these vendors but do we really know which parts of our energy sources come from oil and from those “oils” which might have come from BP ???
otherwise, isn’t this just sorta equivalent to the proverbial pissing in the ocean ???

DON’T CREATE AN ENVIRONMENTAL CATASTROPHE SPILLING THE VALUABLE STUFF YOU PULL OUT OF THE GROUND, THAT WILL COST A FORTUNE TO CLEAN UP AND NEARLY AS MUCH IN BAD PR.

BP: Wow, were just gobsmacked, what a marvelous idea, why didn’t we think of such a novel idea? Here we’ve been trying all along to be as careless as can be, spilling half the oil out of the holes we drill- hey, it’s only 60-120 dollars a barrel, as long as we recover a little bit we make a profit- and we’ve been working overtime trying to think of ways to create catastrophes, you mean you don’t want them? We’d never considered this at all.
What were we thinking? Time for a new marketing firm, I guess we’ll have to fire our old one, Obvious & Noshyte.
