A “big beautiful bill”
it’s been called.
But that’s sure not what I’d call
a piece of legislation
wherein people
with more wealth
than some nations
are given tax breaks
while low-income families,
in need of any kind of break,
are facing changes in Affordable Care Act subsidies
and an increase in food insecurities,
as they lose health coverage
due to the likes of Medicaid
being taken away,
making it so very frightening,
in higher degrees,
to the people with disabilities
and the older folks
who make up our communities.
Nothing pretty in any of that
that I can see
because in my view
this misguided Act of Congress
should be classified
as one
huge ugly ass
monstrosity of a bill.
An insult to all of humanity
if you will.
