Susan G Komen 3-Day Walk Kicked Off Friday Morning — Journey Will Trek Through Ocean Beach

The 2024 Susan G. Komen San Diego 3-Day walk kicked off at the Del Mar Fairgrounds Friday morning, November 15th, with local residents and supporters across the country coming together for a 60-mile trek throughout the San Diego area.

Participants have spent the months prior raising money, a minimum of $2,300 each, that will go toward efforts to fight breast cancer. As of current, the event has an impressive track record and has already raised more than $160 million for the cause, officials with the fundraiser confirmed.

“These funds contribute to Susan G. Komen’s vision of a world without breast cancer, fueling breakthrough research and providing vital support to those facing breast cancer today,” a spokesperson for event stated in a press release. “Komen programs remove barriers to screening and diagnostics, providing people with breast health education, information on treatment, financial support and psychosocial support programs.”

Those taking on the 60-mile journey will trek in areas like Torrey Pines, Kellogg Park in La Jolla, Ocean Beach, Mission Bay, among others spots. The 2024 Susan G. Komen San Diego 3-Day will conclude at San Diego’s Waterfront Park on Sunday.

More information about the event can be found on the Susan G. Komen webpage.
