A woman motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries when her bike crashed while she was traveling eastbound on Midway Drive Tuesday night, October 8.
The unidentified person suffered a collapsed lung, fractured collarbone, multiple rib fractures, as well as lacerated liver and spleen.
She was traveling east in the 3100 block of Midway Drive around 8:30 p.m. on a 2013 Honda Respol CBR 600RR when her motorcyclist struck the raised concrete center island in the roadway and she was ejected.
According to police, both the woman and the motorcycle slid into the westbound lanes, hitting a 2019 silver Dodge Grand Caravan that was driven by a 20-year-old man, and the bike continued to slide and hit a second vehicle, described as a 2018 gray Toyota RAV4 that was driven by a 32-year-old man. Neither of the drivers were injured during the collision.
SDPD’s Traffic Division responded to the scene and will be handling the investigation. Police said DUI was not a factor in this crash. Anyone with information related to this incident is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
