This is a clarion call to all voters in San Diego.
A vote for Todd Gloria is a vote for more massive ugly buildings that are destroying our neighborhoods.
Be clear, those of us who are not voting for Todd are not anti-growth but we support what we used to call ‘smart growth’ which are projects of all income levels that are reimagined and enhance our well-planned communities.
That means that we have sufficient infrastructure (roads and transit), utility (water/sewer) and essential services (like grocery stores, pharmacies, or post offices) in place before new development is built.
If you have driven through Hillcrest/Bankers Hill recently, where high-rises are popping up all over, my question is, will all these people be shopping at Trader Joes or Ralph’s at the Hub or will new grocery stores be built?
As for the Las-Vegas sized buildings under construction (ie: the development on 6th and Robinson that appears to be 1,000 units), if they do provide parking for each unit, how are all these people going to get out of their common garage to go to work? Will they need to stagger their departure times?
We know that Todd Gloria is getting the bulk of his campaign donations from the development industry. So, if you are voting for Todd Gloria because he has ‘government experience’, you must ask yourself: Is this the ‘government experience’ I support to reelect Todd Gloria? I think not.
It’s time to get a fresh face with true real-world experience and leadership. Let’s bring the adults back to our local government who believe in public service not self-service like Todd Gloria.
It’s time to unlock the doors at city hall and elect Larry Turner for Mayor and Terry Hoskins for District 9 City Council. Larry and Terry will turn our city around.

And a nice piece on Toad’s backdoor dealer, Stevo Cushman.
