2024 OBCF Candidate Statements

The Ocean Beach Community Foundation (OBCF) is electing up to nine new Directors to serve on the OBCF Board. Candidate forum took place at a community forum on Wednesday, June 26 at the Point Loma / Hervey Branch Library.

Community voting will be held June 26-July 4, with newly elected candidates starting their term on July 8, 2024.

Each voter can select 1 to 9 candidates to join the OBCF Board. The link with voting instructions follows these candidate statements:

Voting for the 2024 OBCF Board of Director elections is a 2-step process:

  1. Click the link below and submit you information to verify your eligibility to vote as an OB resident, employee, property owner, or business owner.
  2. Once you complete the form and your eligibility has been verified by our Election Committee, you will receive a ballot by email within 48 hours, allowing you to vote for up to 9 candidates for the OBCF Board.

A former lawyer and current grassroots activist, I have been editing the Rag since Patty Jones and I launched it in Oct 2007. Way back during the Dinosaurs in 1970, I founded the original Ocean Beach People’s Rag - OB’s famous underground newspaper -, and then later during the early Eighties, published The Whole Damn Pie Shop, a progressive alternative to the Reader.
