Cartoon: ‘I don’t need a television to see two old guys arguing!’

A former lawyer and current grassroots activist, I have been editing the Rag since Patty Jones and I launched it in Oct 2007. Way back during the Dinosaurs in 1970, I founded the original Ocean Beach People’s Rag - OB’s famous underground newspaper -, and then later during the early Eighties, published The Whole Damn Pie Shop, a progressive alternative to the Reader.

  1. Ain’t that the truth? Where are all the 40-somethings running for president? JFK was only 43 when he was elected.

I’m almost as old as Joe and the Donald, and I wouldn’t trust myself in the White House!

      1. Thanks Sorry not Sorry, I feel the same way. I’ll vote for you, too. Any sane, sober, hard working resident of OB could do a better job than these two mopes.

        1. Obviously, you’re being civil but to compare the two candidates as being of some kind of equal status is quite – what’s the word to use? stupid, ahistorical, contrary to history, unbalanced, crazy — I could go on. But one is a fascist and the other is not. One is for the rule of law and democracy and the other is not.

So, sorry, if this is how you feel, I wouldn’t vote for you.

No false equivalencies here! We do not accept comments that can lead to a fascist dictatorship, no matter how you sugar coat it.

          1. Frank G, I’d vote for YOU as president before I’d vote for these other guys who will be on the ballot!!!

The old guy and the orange guy are different sides of the same coin, mas or menos. They are the establishment.

            1. Gee, thanks, but see, this is what I’m talking about – a false equivalency – which will only further Trump, so cannot encourage its expression. They are NOT the different sides of the same coin, which is exactly what the German left claimed back in the 1930s – and see what that brought them. Before Hitler went after Jews, he went after the left, the socialists, the union leaders, the democrats …. We need to make alliances with that part of the establishment that rejects fascism – for our own survival and the survival of what’s left of our fragile democracy.
