Electric Chair Closed Temporarily – Re-Opening ‘Just Days Away’ Under New Ownership

Tuesday, December 3, the Electric Chair – one of OB’s mainstay hair salons – is closed and locked up. A hand-written sign taped on the glass says “Closed Tuesday 12/3/19 – Open on Wednesday 12/4/19“.

Yet over one of the large main windows hangs a banner that boldly states:

“New Ownership – Grand Re-Opening Just Days Away!”

That’s all we know – and we can state with ease that we among many OBceans and others are happy to see that the business will remain open. It was two weeks ago the OB Rag suggested the storefront salon – one of the favored businesses on Newport – may close. (Which BTW, for which we caught holy hell from some readers.) If a business is going to host a “re-opening”, then it must have been closed for more than one day, we have to note.

The Electric Chair closed up. (If you notice plywood over Apogee’s window, it’s because a window was broken accidentally.)
