OB Town Council Looking for a Christmas Tree Donation for Annual Display at Foot of Newport

Hey, it’s not even Halloween yet, but your Ocean Beach Town Council is looking for a giant, tall Christmas present. The Town Council is looking for a donated Christmas Tree for the annual display at the foot of Newport Avenue.

Preferably one that is crooked, or bent like a question mark or …. whatever.

If you have one to donate, please  email the OBTC at info@obtowncouncil.org with information and a picture – which would be great.

A former lawyer and current grassroots activist, I have been editing the Rag since Patty Jones and I launched it in Oct 2007. Way back during the Dinosaurs in 1970, I founded the original Ocean Beach People’s Rag - OB’s famous underground newspaper -, and then later during the early Eighties, published The Whole Damn Pie Shop, a progressive alternative to the Reader.

  1. Hi< All the trees we brought to OB were gotten because they had to be cut !! Some people wanted them cut because they were up rooting their plumbing, City sidewalk/ street, house foundation~~ Notify the Local Beacon & Beach & Bay Press (PB) and run a news brief and I’m sure some will come forward!! For all the years we chaired it, I want to personally Thank all the vendors involved, Hawthorne Cat Larry, Bob’s Crane, Hodad’s, Atlas Tree Service, NatureScape, and the City of SD, SDPD Motor Officers, and Volunteers. Thanks for being a Partner with Gerry B & I (Claudia Jack) and OBTC, it’s been a Great Venture!! PS: We have enough stories to write a book!!
