There’s a whole new batch of yard signs popping up in front yards in the Ocean Beach Heights area – the hilly section of eastern OB.
And these are true OBcean signs – signs that welcome, signs that express tolerance, respect. They say, “In our America Love Wins” – and then offers pearls of wisdom on the remainder of the cardboard broadside.
Anybody know where one can get one? Or who is distributing them?

NWGSD emerged in Portland, Oregon in response to the 2016 presidential election results when friends gathered together to brainstorm ways to help their community and to actively resist the xenophobia, racism, misogyny, ableism, anti-LGBTQIA, anti-Muslim, anti-Semitic, anti-Earth platform and policies of the new administration. The signs were created after the 2016 election when a group of women in Portland, Oregon brainstormed a way to make a positive impact to the world!
Their intent was to sell the yard signs they’d ordered and donate the profits to local charities.
Years later, we have sold enough yard signs (and related merchandise) to donate more than $130k to local organizations that support the various lines on our flag.
We’ve also engaged in political work for the 2018 midterm elections and organized and participated numerous rallies, marches and more.
Our not-safe-for-work name is Nasty Women Get Shit Done and I think it’s very apt!
