All Power to Be Restored in Ocean Beach and Point Loma by 2 pm

Ocean Beach and Point Loma – as well as other beach communities – were hit with a power outage Tuesday morning, the last day of April. OB and PL were down around 5:55 am and about 3,600 customers were effected.

Power was restored for most, according to SDG&E, by 7:50 am – and everybody will be back online by 2pm. SDG&E crews determined it was caused by equipment failure.

Actually there were two outages. The second one hit at 6:20 am and affected about 4,700 customers in the Mission Bay, Pacific Beach, La Jolla and Bird Rock communities.

They got their power back by 8:50 am – except for a fraction – and the rest were to be with the power by 11 am. Crews determined the second one was caused by downed power line.
