San Diego Fire-Rescue Department lifeguards announced Wednesday morning that the Ocean Beach Pier will be closed for the duration of the high surf advisory.
I just off the phone with the OB Lifeguard tower (10:25 am) and Rigney said he just saw a wave basically break over the pier, so the pier will remain closed at least for the remainder of Thursday.
