OB Rag Offer: Free Ad for One Week for Small or Home Businesses in Ocean Beach

Do you own or run a small or home business in Ocean Beach?

If so, the OB Rag is offering you one full week of free advertising on our platform. And there’s no catch. It’s just part of our showing support to very small and local businesses and merchants.

All you have to do is send us what we used to call in the print business, “camera-ready copy” – that is your ad all ready to go, send it to us in an email, and we’ll post it in our side-bar for one week. Plus we’ll connect the ad with a business link you have.

Sure, we’d like any advertiser to stick around longer for a few dollars, but there’s no pressure to do so.

Here are the details:

  1. Create or use an ad you already have that is 250 pixels deep or tall by 125 pixels wide. Design it so the basic info is in it, that it is legible, and use any color you wish; we don’t want to have to do anything to it except for some small sizing;
  2. Send us an email : obragblog@gmail.com with the ad attached;
  3. Also include any business link with your email.
  4. We will post it for one week.

Questions?

What’s a “small business”? – Two or less people. “Home business”? a real business, not just selling weed out your bedroom.

A former lawyer and current grassroots activist, I have been editing the Rag since Patty Jones and I launched it in Oct 2007. Way back during the Dinosaurs in 1970, I founded the original Ocean Beach People’s Rag - OB’s famous underground newspaper -, and then later during the early Eighties, published The Whole Damn Pie Shop, a progressive alternative to the Reader.

  1. We thought, “what do we have that we offer local small businesses? ” Well, obviously, access to the internet and our platform readers; we have 1000 to 2,000 readers a day, most from San Diego.

  2. We’ve had our first small business take us up on our offer. See the ad for free classes of lacrosse at the top of our sidebar.
