Springboard Music Festival is taking over San Diego for the second time to provide aspiring musicians the opportunity to pitch their music to industry professionals and bring music lovers an event in what feels like a grassroots “American Idol” or South by Southwest. The unparalleled three-day conference and festival ends with a Band & Brew Crawl in Ocean Beach.
The Springboard “West” Music Festival begins on January 11 at OB Theatre with a two-day “Band Bootcamp” — an opportunity for emerging artists from all over the U.S. to take the stage and showcase their talents in front of veterans and professionals in the music industry and generate exposure in front of a live crowd. Ticketed attendees are invited after the boot camp to enjoy unplugged performances, local art, fashion and craft beverages.
The festival ends on Saturday, January 13 with the Band & Brew Crawl, a full-day celebration that brings together all 40 bands on four stages across Ocean Beach including:
- Winston’s,
- OB Theatre,
- The Harp and
- Mother’s Saloon.
Springboard Music Festival made its way to San Diego last year after years of uber-success in Houston. In the past, the festival has mentored and featured over 500 artists and assisted with over 100 career-changing deals including recording, management and publishing contracts. Over 30 songs have been placed in films thanks to the “Moment of Truth” live pitch sessions and countless collaborations have resulted from performing on the same stages. Additionally, the festival headlined major artists including Warren G, Paul Wall, Frankie J and Big Pink.
All three days are open to the public. Tickets are $10 a person per day and available for purchase at www.springboardwest.com. All proceeds benefit local nonprofits, Autism Tree Project Foundation, Pioneer Day School, and nonprofit focused on helping artists create a balance between artistic focus and economic reality, Sustainable Artists.
Come out and celebrate talented artists with us!
