Local Cannabis Advocates to Celebrate DA Bonnie Dumanis’ Departure from Office

There’s a going-away party – of sorts – for San Diego’s District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis when she leaves office on Friday, July 7th. It’s called the “Bonnie Bash!”

In fact there will be a Jazz Funeral March to celebrate the event, organized by the San Diego Americans for Safe Access chapter – a group that over the last several years has been very visible challenging Dumanis in her personal war against cannabis.

The celebration will begin at 11am at the Hall of Justice, 330 W Broadway, and the funeral march will continue to the County Administration Building, at Pacific Highway and Ash.

ASA says: We dance in the streets! Join us for our Jazz Funeral March with The Euphoria Brass Band!

  1. Classy. Really great way to raise your organization’s profile. It’s why I have nothing to do with the ASA here in SD. Just about as tone-deaf and immature somtimes as Bonnie herself.

    1. And I’m sure they suffer for not having access to your infinite knowledge. Legend in your own mind.

      1. Yep. Totally about me me me. Nothing to do with an organization representing my industry that is holding childish events.

    2. Seven years later I am still proud of this event. Let’s face it, we ran Bonnie out of San Diego politics using tactics such as this. Now I hear she’s a judge in Riverside. #KarmaIsABrassBand

  2. A fun idea and good band….
We deserve better. Let us all vote in an intelligent, progressive and compassionate D.A. for 2018.
