OB Rag editor Frank Gormlie holding grand-daughter Skyar Rae for the first time, as dad Forrest looks on, after he had been up all night.

My grand-daughter finally arrived on January 2nd in the New Year – Skylar Rae Seguin was born at 4:50 a.m. Sedona, Arizona time.

She and mom – Michelle – and dad – Forrest – are all doing fine. Tired but fine.

Skylar came in and weighed 7 pounds 12 ounces, and was 20 inches in length.

She also had some brown hair to boast about.

True to form, we’re told, Sylar had a peaceful first night, but stayed up her second night and cried some. I’m also told that is when the brand, new stomach kicks in, and is upsetting to the newborn.

The OB Rag has not been publishing very much over this last week and a half of so as I had to travel from San Diego to Sedona – up in northern Arizona – for the birth, Michelle and Forrest’s first.

A former lawyer and current grassroots activist, I have been editing the Rag since Patty Jones and I launched it in Oct 2007. Way back during the Dinosaurs in 1970, I founded the original Ocean Beach People’s Rag - OB’s famous underground newspaper -, and then later during the early Eighties, published The Whole Damn Pie Shop, a progressive alternative to the Reader.

  1. Awesome! Gongrats! Gee, let’s see some right-wing jerk like Craven Bundy make some magic by producing a child within his body. Nope, can’t be done.
She’s beautiful. I have some jammies just like hers. 100% cotton, too.
