UPDATE: Kreighton Kilgore was convicted ONLY for resisting arrest, a violation of Penal Code sec 69.  All other charges were apparently dismissed, during February 2013.

Making phony bomb threats and real threats against a woman at Robb Field lead to the arrest by police of one Kreighton John Kilgore on Friday, July 20th.

Kilgore is reportedly to have first told a woman that he had just placed a bomb inside a mailbox on Ebers Street near West Point Loma.  She called police around 9:50 a.m. to report this. Law enforcement responded and shut down traffic lanes in the area to allow a bomb squad to investigate the mail receptacle. No bomb was found but a note referring to bombs was found.

Kilgore had left the immediate scene by time law enforcement had arrived. But apparently he had ended over at Robb Field, not too far away.  It was somewhere in that park that Kilgore reportedly confronted a second woman and threatened her.  He also told her he was carrying a bomb.  She made an emergency call to police to report this.

Police rushed to the park, found Kreighton in a parked car and arrested him. During the arrest, he is alleged to have spit in an officer’s face. No bombs were found on him, in his car, or anywhere in Robb Field.

Kreighton Kilgore was arrested at approximately 11:50 am on suspicion of making a criminal threat to kill or injure a person and battery against a police officer.

Here is the U-T San Diego story; here is KPBS.

is this why part of the bike path and the north side of the park were closed yesterday afternoon (about 2-3pm)?
