The Ocean Beach Community Foundation is picking up the pieces of what once was the OB Town Council and is holding what would have been the 26th Annual Pancake Breakfast. And of course it cannot be held at the traditional site — the OB Pier — so it will take place from 7:30 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024, at Saratoga Park.
Promising good food, views, music and community, the OBCF plans on service fluffy pancakes, sizzling sausage and freshly brewed coffee in ample amounts to satisfy hungry eaters who have purchased tickets and they will be served to all ticket holders by community volunteers.
Saratoga Park provides a grassy area adjacent to the beach where folks can enjoy the company of family and friends while sharing a hot breakfast.
The well-known Preston Lang Jazz Quartet will entertain, and a silent auction will be held in which participants can bid on unique gifts in preparation for the holidays.
Traditionally, the annual pancake breakfast kicked off the OBTC’s fundraising efforts that made possible some of the community events for which Ocean Beach is renowned: The Taste of OB, Holiday Parade and Tree, Holiday Auction Party, and the Food and Toy Drive that helped about 150 families last year alone.
Stepping into the shoes of the defunct OBTC, the OBCF plans to carry out the same events and wants everyone to start their holiday season off right.
Connect with our community by sharing good food, good music, and a relaxing outdoor venue. Tickets are $15 for adults, $8 for children under 13 years old, and you can sponsor a table for eight adults for $150.
