I was raised in a loving and alive home, in a black neighborhood filled with colorful characters in Tucson, Arizona. Such an environment gave me a hint that life has to be grabbed by the tail as tight as a pimple on a mosquito's butt. With no BS and a whole lot of love. So, from those days to now I get up every morning set on making the world a better place. On my good foot*, and I hope my writing reflects that. *an old black expression

  1. I’m glad I took the time to listen to your reading, Ernie. I think we are crying out for songs that speak to us, that galvanize our hopes and speak to our needs. Thank you for that poem.

  2. Ernie, I wish it were so; in the nick of time. Too many categories of behaviors for any one person to keep up with that need to be completely discarded if we are to survive as a species.

Any species that enslaves others of its own species cannot consider itself superior.

But Ernie I really liked hearing your words and your voice and the life energy that was threaded all through this that came through the web link. If you want to and have the time, I’d like to send you my book Massacre Sites; Working for the Dead to read. Ask Frank for my email address and send me a ship address and I’ll post one to you.

This is the reality we live with every day, and most turn their faces away from it:

A Nice Change of Tempo: “Let ’Em Have It, Boys, Let ‘Em Have It. Fuck These People.”

  3. Another wonderful poem to make us think. Thank you for the video, too. I hope we see a lot more of those.

  4. OB maybe stands for ” Old Bean”, you always take me back to a time when I was coming along. I love all that you say, you are always down to earth, breath of fresh air!
