It wasn’t much more
than a week ago
when a presidential race
was burdening me with woe,
but ever since Biden,
who goes by Joe,
let Kamala Harris
step into the spotlight’s
bright glow,
I’ve gone loco
with giddiness,
giggling with laughter
and dancing around the house
with glee,
singing and scatting
and tapping and patting
on table tops and my thighs
like I’m Mongo Santa Maria and Poncho Sanchez
in disguise
with enough merriment in my eyes|
to light up a midnight sky,
smiling and grinning like a cheshire cat
all the while
like the world’s happiest child,
just bathing in the joy
that seems to fill the air
these days.
Oh, has it ever been a gas,
a blast,
as it seems signs of hope
for our country
are here at last.
And we’ve got to make it last.

Ditto a thousand times, Ernie, and now we’ve also got Kamala’s great choice for Vice President — Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, — a former secondary school teacher and principal and coach of a championship high school football team, current head of the U.S.Governors organization, 12-year former member of Congress, longtime enlisted member of the National Guard. What a relief, what a joy!
I too am high as a kite with hope and optimism , after seeing Kamala – Walz ticket speech yesterday ; my sense is that this will be a blow out for Blue America, in November.
Dave — agree with you wholeheartedly — and it’s great to hear from you.
