Hell Yes the Man’s a Racist

by Ernie McCray

The dumbest question I’ve ever heard is
“Is Donald Trump a racist?”
as that’s as obvious a question
as:
Does Dizzy Gillespie have big cheeks?
Do school children like to play hide and seek?
Is Mikhail Baryshnikov a dancer?
Are drum majors and majorettes
marchers and prancers?
Was Gone With the Wind a hit
and Mark Twain a wit?
Could Richard Pryor and Robin Williams
do a comedy bit?
Does a major league player spit?
Is Albert Einstein brainy?
Daffy Duck Zany?
Is a whale heavy?
Is there room in the classic car world
for a 57 Chevy?
Is Hannibal Lechter crazy
and a fog hazy?
Does it snow in Minnesota
in the wintertime?
Could Langston Hughes write a rhyme?

Hell yes, the man’s a racist!

On what basis?

Well, when it comes to being a racial chauvinist
he’s in a class of his own,
an OG racist to the bone,
a man who believes
in his wretched soul
that he and people like him are far superior
to people with dark skin tones.
All the discriminating
he’s done against black renters
and all that hullabaloo he stirred up about birtherism
is racist.
Attacking Latino and black teenagers
in rageful fits
for a rape they didn’t commit
is racist.
And so is
telling lies
about how African Americans
are responsible for the majority of murders of whites
and how Mexican and Central American immigrants
are rapists who delve in drugs and crime
and his signifying
that the kkk neo-nazi types
and the peace and liberty activists
at a rally in Charlottesville
who protested them
were, in some mysterious ways,
of the same stripe,
and his referring to nations of dark skinned people
as “shithole” countries
and his telling four black Congress women
who called him out on his racist tendencies
“to go back and help fix the totally broken
and crime infested countries from which they came”
when three of them came from
whence he came,
the United States of America,
and one of them is a citizen
of the nation
by naturalization.

Way too much racism therein.
Way past the tie to get rid of him.

I was raised in a loving and alive home, in a black neighborhood filled with colorful characters in Tucson, Arizona. Such an environment gave me a hint that life has to be grabbed by the tail as tight as a pimple on a mosquito's butt. With no BS and a whole lot of love. So, from those days to now I get up every morning set on making the world a better place. On my good foot*, and I hope my writing reflects that. *an old black expression

  1. I always thought that there was no way that we could get a President worse than Richard Nixon . I was wrong.

    1. Yeah, I always thought there was no way Congress could get any more dysfunctional. I was wrong. SIX committees, 3 failed impeachment resolutions, and a “successful” symbolic one?! And the POTUS’ atrocities continue unchecked…

  2. You are on top of your form, Ern !
When I grow up I want too be just like you.
