OB Artist or Vandal?

Is this guy an artist … or a vandal? Or a graffitist?

The individual was seen down at the cliffs between Del Monte Ave. and Narragansett Ave.

At the least, he could be in violation of Section 5 of San Diego’s Open Space Canyons and Parkland Rules:

All plants, animals, and cultural resources are protected. Collection or destruction of any natural feature is prohibited [SDMC 63.0102(b)(4)]. Hunting is prohibited [SDMC 63.0102(b)(10)]. Defacing rocks, structures, or property is prohibited [SDMC 63.0102(b)(5)].

Death by a Thousand Cuts. The bluffs between the pier and Santa Cruz Ave are probably the most abused section of coastline in San Diego County.

VANDAL!

Yeah, I agree that this is pure destruction/vandalism of natural resources and in no way is “art”. If someone can identify this person he should be reported to whatever public agency is supposed to enforce the statute cited in the article.

Pictures of the end result? Sure its wrong but I’d imagine his intent is pure. Art or vandalism, on sandstone its all temporary.

Nobody says anything to these people. I see them carving on Santa Cruz cove beach. Nobody says anything. I don’t like it. I don’t like beach fires either….I pick up the mess. Vandals don’t get fucked with in ob….they fuck with me cause I’m cleaning/sweeping.
