SD Art Advisory, a new art gallery, will soon debut in Mission Hills — a project from fine artist and gallerist Alexander Salazar and local interior designer Darcy Kempton.
Their 4,200-sqft space will feature two levels of works by both local and world-renowned artists, plus a salon where collectors can purchase NFT art in partnership with dealer Chris Trueman.
The curators hope the gallery shines a spotlight on the San Diego art scene while also benefiting the arts communities across SoCal and Baja California.
SD Art Advisory opens at 12 p.m. this Saturday May 20 at 3977 Falcon St, coinciding with the inaugural community art walk, Art in the Hills. The grand opening party is 6-9 p.m. that evening, and attendees can register for free.
Pro tip: Wear your favorite creative attire to the shindig — it’s a celebration of the arts, after all.

That has to be the ugliest building I have ever seen in my life. I am lost is bare concrete supposed to be eye appealing, did the builder pay a joke on someone? Maybe his ex-wife owned the land and asked him to build a beautiful building that remined him of their good times together, and he did his artistic interputation of their marriage-cold, boring, plain, any piece of art would look good seeing and walking into this end of the world concrete bunker.

Exactly the kind of building that should showcase the creative individual artworks and not take away from those experiences.
When I first looked at it I thought I was looking at the front office of a county jail or something. Bars in the windows wouldn’t look out of place! But look in both edges of the photo and you can sure tell this ugly concrete monstrosity doesn’t fit into the surrounding buildings. I mean, the right side is a blue building with a chimney!
Ugly concrete just isn’t visually stimulating in any venue but I guess maybe it would work to make the art inside look better!
