SDFD and SDPD responded to a House Fire on Cape May Ave in Ocean Beach. Engine 15 was just 1 minute away doing their daily exercise on the beach.

The people inside told the media off camera that the fire started in the closet of a bedroom while the occupant was on a business zoom call. No flames were seen outside but one bedroom was destroyed.

Hi friends,
This was our house we were renting for the last 7 years. Unfortunately the toxicology report found exposed lead throughout our entire house from the burnt walls. We lost EVERYTHING in the house due to lead and smoke contamination. We did not have renters insurance and have learned a valuable lesson to purchase it moving forward. So, we are starting over entirely.
Below is our Gofundme if anyone would like to contribute or can share the Gofundme with our OB community. Any contributions help greatly and will go to the 3 of us, SD natives, and our roommate’s sweet 9 year old boy who lives with us half the week.

We are crashing at my parents house and hope to one day move back to OB once we get back on our feet. Ocean Beach has our heart and we all miss waking up in our special community.

Thank you!
Danielle
