Trump’s Sorry Ass Should Be in Jail

in Election, From the Soul

by Ernie McCray

I was just thinking
if I had stolen
a bunch of classified
U.S. documents
and hid them in my basement
and the FBI had to come and get them,
and I had the nerve
to ask for a
“Special Master Review”
of some kind
to look at what’s there’s
and what’s mine,
they would look at me
as though I had lost my freakin’ mind
and my behind
would be thrown in jail
in world-record-time
and the “public defender”
assigned to me would explain to me
that this ain’t nothing
compared to what life
is going to be like for me
after I’m found guilty
and sent off to a federal penitentiary
where I will be provided
room and board
until the day they drive my old body
off to a mortuary.

Oh, it’s one thing
to know that justice
for some
is different than how it is for you,
but seeing such a truth
played out in front of you
over and over again,
seemingly without end,
in full view,
is heart-stopping
and jaw dropping
and outright sickening.

I mean, come on,
what the hell.
Trump’s sorry ass
should be in jail,
then the pen.

Lock his butt up!
And let the rejoicing begin!

Ernie, I love the way you write, phrase, and where you choose to rhyme that rivets the eyes and ears. Elie Mystal, the feisty justice correspondent for The Nation Magazine was on “Democracy Now!” radio show this morning and said this of Federalist Society pick District Court Judge Aileen Cannon:
“I think she is biased and prejudiced towards Trump. And the reason why I think that is that she said it in her opinion. She literally wrote that she was treating Trump differently because he was the former president.” That drives home the truth in your poem that
“…my behind
would be thrown in jail in world-record-time….” had you done the same thing.
Judge Cannon was nominated to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida in 2020 by then-President Donald Trump and confirmed nine days after Trump lost the 2020 election.
Mystal is the author of the best-selling book “Allow Me to Retort: A Black Guy’s Guide to the Constitution.”

Can’t believe we are still talking about the Godfather.

No guy I’d rather see busting rocks than this guy! But have a feeling we’ll be forced to be happy with just getting “OUR” stuff back. He has teams of lawyers who specialize in foot dragging those guys he pays I bet. If we can see to it that his political life is at least drastically diminished, and we can one day wake and not see or hear his name all day… PARTY AT MY HOUSE…
