The 2022 Annual Board election for the Peninsula Community Planning Board was scheduled for this Thursday, March 17.
But, since only 5 candidates submitted applications for the five open Board seats, the Board leadership decided to cancel the election. In a statement on the PCPB website, it said,
“the election will not take place and eligible candidates will be appointed by the Board at the March Meeting and start their terms in April.”
The next Board Meeting is March 17, 2022 and will be held via Zoom at 6pm. For more information, go to the website here.

Well this is interesting. Do we know who the five ‘winners’ are?
The board now has another cyclist as a member, with no effort at all.
The agenda for Thursday’s meeting has been posted on the PCPB web site, and it includes the proposed procedures for dealing with the election. The five are Korla Eaquinta, Margaret Virissimo, TinaC ompton, Leah Schaperow, and J. Javier Saunders.
Am I the only one who sees some irony in that while Joe LaCava and friends want to disenfranchise community planning groups because they’re so “unrepresented” of the community, the Peninsula planning panel can’t get enough candidates to even hold an election.
Pretty pathetic. I have to wonder if the news about all the new planning board rules, including the loss of complete indemnification, may have played a factor. I think the changes may be having the desired effect already.
