A man was stabbed in the 5000 block of Newport Avenue in Ocean Beach early Thursday morning, December 9.
Fortunately, he sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital.
The unidentified victim was talking to a couple around 1:30 am near the intersection of Newport and Bacon Street when the assailant “ran up to the victim swinging his arms,” according to San Diego Police.
During the struggle, the two men fell to the ground. The assailant rose and walked away. The other man then noticed he was bleeding. He had two stab wounds on his side.
The only description of the suspect is as a man in his 30s. It’s not known if the victim knew the assailant.
The Western Division of the SDPD is taking the lead in investigating the attack.

Please. Please. Stop bike hate. It’s counterintuitive and counterproductive to overall OBrag vision and goals.
Lisa, (not sure why you commented at this article) I just returned from an hour and half bike ride. We obviously don’t hate bikes. What we object to is the bike being used as a wedge by those pushing their ideas in a holier-than-thou attitude; it’s elitist and undemocratic.
Meth heads line the entire northwestern end of the intersection.
It’s not even meth anymore according to an article I read recently by a DEA chemist investigators who has been involved with tracking down meth labs for decades. Most meth isn’t even made in the US anymore, it’s gone big business chemical factory with huge investments and serious consequences. It’s not the Japanese-invented drug from the late 1800s, or the Nazi Germany improved version, or the US Air Force even more improved version used with bomber crews in WWII, it’s way worse.
Oh good, I just found the article (I’ve been having trouble learning Windows 10, it loses stuff I save and I don’t know where it goes!). This explains a LOT of what we are seeing. This will raise anxiety no doubt:
